Tour Director, Jonathan Hall
Born and raised in Ecuador, Jonathan Hall has dedicated his life to showcasing the beauty and diversity of his homeland. The son of American volcanologists who have led the Ecuadorian Geophysical Institute for over 50 years, Jonathan possesses deep-rooted knowledge and passion for Ecuador. With over 20 years of experience in tourism, he expertly organizes excursions for expats, remote workers, and more. His unique background, having lived in both Ecuador and the USA, equips him with a keen understanding of the needs and expectations of foreign visitors, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
Culture & Language Expert, Susana de Silva
A native of Quito, Ecuador, Susana has been an integral part of Ecuador Expat Journeys for over 10 years. With extensive experience in grassroots development, she has collaborated with Peace Corps/Ecuador for more than 25 years serving as a language facilitator, cross-cultural coordinator, and training director. Susana holds a Master’s Degree in Human Talent Management and has traveled globally as a training consultant. She and her husband Marco own Cruisetas Lodge, site of the Spanish Language & Ecuadorian Culture Course. Together they have one son, Mateo, who works in movie and TV production.
Guest Communications, Sue Jordan
New to the Ecuador Expat Journeys team, Sue hails from rural Alberta, Canada. As a "Crash Course" Graduate in 2015, it didn't take her long to fall in love with this fascinating country and realize she wanted to make Ecuador her home one day. In November, 2021, Sue and her husband, Phil, made a return trip to Ecuador and felt an immediate and special connection to the country and its warm-hearted people. By June 2022, they made the bold decision to sell everything they owned and relocate to Ecuador, seeking a new chapter in their lives. Sue's mission now is to share her love for Ecuador with others. She wants to inspire people to explore this incredible country through Ecuador Expat Journeys, offering safe and comprehensive travel experiences.
