JUNGLE TOUR - Pañacocha Program (Piranha Lake) ​

Jan. 30: Coca - Pañayacu - Pañacocha Lodge
AM Flight from Quito to Coca (not included)
From Coca, we will take a motorized canoe and begin our trip along the Napo River until we reach the Pañayacu River. It will take 4-5 hours, with lunch along the way. Our final destination will be Pañacocha Lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge, we will do a short hike so you can stretch your legs and get a feel of the primary forest.

Jan. 31: Pañacocha
​
After breakfast we will go for a walk through the rainforest, looking at different kinds of medicinal plants, trees and insects. Later that afternoon we will navigate up the Pañayacu River, experiencing some of the incredible flora and fauna of the area. This will be a perfect time for bird watching, pictures and seeing monkeys and other animals. We will also try our hand at piranha fishing.

Feb. 01: Pañacocha and the surrounding lagoons
​
In the morning we will do a more extensive hike through Primary forest. In the afternoon we will visit the Pañacocha lake where we will see many types of bird such as Caciques, King Fishers, Hoatzins amongst many other exotic species. This is the ideal time to hopefully see pink fresh water dolphins. Later that evening, we will go out in canoes to spot Caimans (Amazon crocodiles).

Feb. 02: Pañacocha - Rio Napo - Coca
​
Morning departure to visit a native family, before heading up river back to Coca. We will stop for lunch along the way.
Overnight in Coca.
​
Feb. 03: AM flight back to Quito
Our tour includes licensed English-speaking guides, three meals a day (starting with lunch on the first day and ending with lunch on the last day), all canoe transportation, rubber boots and accommodation in double rooms (Comfy Typical cabins) - not to mention a truly amazing jungle experience.
