Fun Spanish and Ecuadorian Culture Tour

The Ecuador Journeys team has developed the initiative to establish an introductory Language and Ecuadorian Culture Tour to give our guests the opportunity to learn and practice the basic language in a more intense immersion context with local people. The course will be three days before the Crash Course tour and will take place in an eco-lodge in the cloud forest of the Ecuadorian Amazon. It will be a unique language experience in a diverse environment surrounded by flora, fauna and birds of the cloud forest at the entrance of the Amazon Region.  By taking this Fun Spanish and Ecuadorian Culture Tour, we hope you will be more exposed to new successful language learning experiences. Teaching philosophy: We have developed a philosphy and practice for our language course which is grounded in adult learning theory and experiential methodology. Put very simply, we provide you with the opportunity to learn and practice the language skills that you will need in order to be an effective learner. Taking this critical step will increment your readiness for the Crash Course Tour, and decrease difficulty with the communication aspects of cultural adaptation in the near future.

 

Language and Culture team:

Susana de Silva is the course language and culture tutor. She has been facilitating Spanish language  to participants in Ecuador Expat Journeys groups for over 12 years. The Fun Spanish and Ecuadorian Culture Tour team is integrated by professionals in Education Sciences with teaching experience in fields as gastronomy, agro-ecology, biology. They will be collaborating as local guides for the cloud forest, bird-watching, healthy and nutritious cuisine, and as language practice facilitators.

 

Location:

The Fun Spanish and Ecuadorian Culture Tour will take place at Curisetas Lodge - Gateway to the Amazon - located in the province of Napo, three hours east of the city of Quito. A privileged site for being the habitat of the Andean bear, a variety of orchids, balcony of hummingbirds and other birds of the cloud forest. 

 

Facilities:

The lodge facilities reflect our learning concept: peaceful environment, welcoming and friendly ambiances for guests. It is a cabin built more than 25 years ago that provides all the comforts of home: private rooms, shared bathrooms, and a relaxing and learning environment. Free WIFI is available throughout the cabin.
